A ilustra\u00e7\u00e3o da capa representa as tr\u00eas camadas do filme lacrimal \u2014  a lip\u00eddica, a aquosa e a mucina \u2014, infectadas por&nbsp;<em>Mycobacterium tuberculosis<\/em>, bact\u00e9ria causadora da maioria dos casos de&nbsp;<strong>tuberculose<\/strong>&nbsp;(<strong>TB<\/strong>). A superf\u00edcie da nanoemuls\u00e3o de rifampicina foi modificada, empregando agentes cati\u00f4nicos, quitosana e polimixina B. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\"><br>A intera\u00e7\u00e3o eletrost\u00e1tica entre as nanopart\u00edculas cati\u00f4nicas e a mucina, com carga negativa, possibilita o aumento do tempo de resid\u00eancia do produto na<br>superf\u00edcie do olho.
